ARS Anglian Diesels Limited have over 50 years experience in the supply and servicing of hydraulic transmission systems for marine and industrial applications to the UK, Europe and Worldwide markets. Specialising in using the VOAC/Parker Hannifin F11/F12/F1 range of piston pumps and motors, we also manufacture our own hydraulically operated bow thrusters, distribute Teddington Controls' range of pressure and temperature switches, provide hydraulic pump and motor repair services in addition to carrying a large stockholding of spare parts.
Who are ARS Anglian Diesels?
We started selling marine engines to hire boat companies in 1969. It soon became clear that a hydraulic transmission system would give major benefits to both the hire companies and to the hirers. The transmission allowed the engine to be placed anywhere in the boat, thus allowing more room where it was needed. We built our first marine hydraulic transmission in 1970, using the VOAC/Volvo F11 series of piston pumps and motors and it is still in operation on the Norfolk Broads today.
What do ARS Anglian Diesels do?
We distribute Teddington Controls Limited's range of pressure and temperature switches. We also produce our own hydraulic Bow Thruster, mainly used on narrow boats and barges on canals. We are a main marine hydraulic distributor for Parker Hannifin, handling the VOAC/VOLVO range of products. Over the past 30 years, the name on the product and its numbers may have changed, but our principle of always using the F11/F12/F1 high efficiency piston pumps and motors range is still the same today as it has always been.
Bow Thrusters
A bow thruster is a transversal propulsion device built into, or mounted to, the bow of a ship or boat to make it more manoeuverable. Bow thrusters make docking easier, since they allow the captain to turn the vessel to port or starboard without using the main propulsion mechanism which requires some forward motion for turning.
